A Peek Behind the Curtains of Netflix’s Upcoming ‘One Piece’ Live-Action Series

The end of August will witness the highly anticipated debut of the live-action adaptation of One Piece, with Netflix having recently unveiled a new behind-the-scenes featurette. The sneak peek video kicks off a ten-day countdown leading up to the series premiere on August 31.

This new featurette includes never-before-seen interviews with the cast and creative team of One Piece, delving into their process of bringing Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga to life in a new format. They discuss topics such as assembling the perfect cast, the show’s stunt coordination, and more.

Based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series in history, One Piece is a literary epic unlike any other. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate with stretchy rubber abilities, who values freedom over everything else.

 

Setting out from his humblevillage, Luffy embarks on a perilous journey to locate the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, and claim the titke of King of the Pirates. But in order to attain the ultimate prize, Luffy must assemble a formidable pirate crew, outwit the Marines, and overcome all obstacles in his path.

This series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. In the featurette, each member of the Straw Hat Pirates shared their insights into what fans can expect from these characters.

 

Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, the writers, executive producers, and showrunners of this live-action adaptation, also also shared their perspectives the show. Additionally, the featurette offers fresh glimpses into Sanji’s life on the Baratie, details about the show’s villains, and more.
