The organizers of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 3 - Challengers SEA tournament have pledged to distribute the prize money to all participating teams by January next year following complaints of overdue payments.

The complaint was made by the coach of one of the participating teams, who claimed that his team had not received their share of the US$100,000 prize pool despite the tournament being held in August.

Coach Ji Dong-jun, better known as BOOM Meow, made the allegation on Twitter, adding that the teams that competed in the South Korean and Japanese legs of the tournament had received their prize money in September.

"Ummm just wondering @ValorantEsports. When will we get our Prize money for the SEA Challengers Stage 3? We are asking the admins in Mineski about it and we still get no update," he said in the tweet.

The VCT Stage 3 - Challengers SEA tournament is co-organized by Mineski and Riot Games Southeast Asia. Mineski is an esports event organizer based in the Philippines with several branches throughout Southeast Asia.

In an immediate response, Mineski said the prize money is being processed and will be released by January 2022.

"We had some administrative issues that we already resolved this month. We also have never backed away from our obligations to players. Teams that won our local qualifiers already received their prize money.

"We apologize for not communicating to the teams in a timely manner, but rest assured that we are working to protect players' interests," Mineski said in a statement to IGN Southeast Asia when contacted yesterday.
