Another year, another April Fools' Day, another compilation where we encounter countless numbers of tasteful and tasteless jokes from the video game world. We've done our job in screening through the cringe-worthy ones, and thankfully, the remaining ones are pretty entertaining!

So, here's a roundup of some of the best video game and geeky April Fools' pranks of 2018.

PlayStation The Board Game

There, a non-4k resolution gaming solution that allows you to play all the PlayStation exclusives! It's time to go full-on analog with PlayStation The Board Game.

Team Rocket took over Pokémon for a day!

Team Rocket hacked all of the official Pokémon platforms, in order to capture Pikachu!

Are you ready to join Team Rocket?

Meanwhile, Niantic, creators of Pokémon Go joined in on the party by announcing new graphic feature for the game.

Final Fantasy 14 Gathering Outdoors

While we are on about augmented reality games, Square Enix announced a feature that we all want - augmented reality item gathering in Final Fantasy XIV Online Gathering Outdoors (GO). The official site is pretty well done.

Minecraft with Improved Graphics

On 1 April 2018, Minecraft Java Edition's textures have been improved and perfected. It's so advanced that I can't even play it without my 3D glasses!

Fortnite X Nintendo and a New Mode

With Fornite's recent fame and success, it's a no-brainer that the game will be the ultimate target for pranksters; and the team over at Press Start published an announcement that's so good that we wished it was real!
Next. We have a Fartnite fart joke. Yes, it's a fart joke. I would actually play it though.

Battle Royale Spawns

Courtesy of PUBG and Fornite, battle royale is the trend that you cannot do without for April Fools 2018.

One thing that most battle royale games should have, is more cooking items and kitchen wares. Enlisted's Cuisine Royale fixes that! (Enlisted is an upcoming game by Gaijin Entertainment which made War Thunder).

Path of Exile made full use of the festive season to enter the battle royale extended universe.

CD Projekt Red

The studio behind the Witcher series recently just opened a third studio to work on their upcoming game - Cyberpunk 2077, and they are currently looking for a very good Doge.
