This year’s Indonesian Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) was a resounding success, with the three-day event in Bali showcasing the best of Indonesia’s gaming industry and featuring insightful speakers from from the global gaming industry.

Seminars conducted by industry giants such as Epic Games, Xbox, and Neon Doctrine provided attendees with valuable insights into the workings behind the scenes of the industry. The event was also open to the public, allowing attendees to explore and experience 40 local indie games.

Alongside the convention festivities, there were several exclusive announcements, underscoring the tremendous growth of the Indonesian and Southeast Asian gaming sphere. Here are the key announcements from this year’s IGDX:

Bahasa Indonesia Options for Dota 2 and Counter Strike 2

Valve’s Erik Peterson took the stage during IGDX, highlighting Steam’s recent introduction of Bahasa Indonesia as a language option. Valve’s two biggest games, Dota 2 and Counter Strike 2, will soon implement this language in an upcoming update.

Eternal Dream and Rolling Glory Jam Team Up on ‘Helen’

Developers Eternal Dream and Rolling Glory Jam, the creators of The Sun Shines Over Us and Hello Goodboy, have unveiled their collaborative adventure game, Helen. This game explores the soul-searching story of a young violinist.

The Troublemaker Universe Expands

Gamecom Team, the developers behind Troublemaker, came out swinging with three major announcements. Their high school brawler Troublemaker is not only coming to Xbox systems but is also getting a sequel called Troublemaker 2: Beyond Dream and even a live-action movie.

A Spooky Teaser for DreadHaunt

The developers of the horror game series DreadOut, Digital Happiness teased their multiplayer-focused game, DreadHaunt. This new teaser reveals a supernatural apocalypse, which makes us very excited to try out DreadHaunt’s asymmetrical gameplay.

Xbox Announces Game Camp Asia

Xbox Game Studios’ Game Camp program, which has been a valuable resource for underrepresented video game developers globally, is expanding. With previous editions taking place in Africa and Sweden, Global Expansion Team Director Agnes Kim announced that Game Camp Asia will be coming soon to the region.

Project Unseek Release Date Unveiled

The multiplayer horror game, Project Unseek, has a new demo for gamers to look forward to. Survivor horror fans can dive into the game when it launches on Steam on November 10.
