Malaysian voice actress Chan Su Ling has added another feather to her cap after being tapped to voice several characters in the English dub of hit Japanese anime Kageki Shojo!!.

Kageki Shojo!! is a critically acclaimed shoujo anime that aired in July this year. It follows the story of Watanabe Sarasa, who dreams of being an otokoyaku, an actress who plays male roles in an all-female theater troupe.

In a tweet published on Sunday (October 17), Chan said she is voicing one of the characters' mother in the English-language dub of the anime, which will be distributed by American entertainment company Funimation.

It is also understood that she will be voicing several students in the animation.

"I'm the first Malaysian voice actor in an American dub," she said, adding that she was proud to prove that Malaysians could achieve anything.

Kageki Shojo!! began life as a manga created by Kumiko Saiki. The series ran in Jump Kai magazine from 2012 to 2014 before being re-released as an omnibus in 2019.

Chan is a seasoned voice actress who has 19 voice acting credits under her belt, according to IMDb. She is best known for her role as Mayday in the critically acclaimed Malaysian-made video game No Straight Roads, and Ying from popular Malaysian animated series BoBoiBoy, among others.

Fluent in English, Malay, and conversational Cantonese and Japanese, Chan has worked on over 500 commercials, 100 corporate videos, several US video games as well as audiobooks.
