PC gamers can now enjoy the complete Steam experience in Bahasa Indonesia, as full language support for the Steam client is available following a few weeks of beta testing. Steam users can easily change their language preferences in the Steam desktop and mobile apps.

This addition makes Bahasa Indonesia Steam’s 29th core language on the platform. Steam has also committed to ongoing translation efforts to support the numerous special events, sales, promotions, and new features that Steam introduces in Bahasa Indonesia every year.

Steam is also encouraging an increasing number of game developers to release Indonesian language versions of their games to Steam, raising hopes for more games with Bahasa Indonesia voiceovers and subtitles.

As of now, Steam offers over 900 games that support Bahasa Indonesia. While we’ve previously highlighted ten games to play in Bahasa Indonesia, here are another ten recommended titles you should check out.

One Piece Odyssey

The latest video game in the One Piece franchise takes the Straw Hat Pirates on a journey through their past. As a turn-based role-playing game, it offers an abundance of in-game text and lore that Indonesian-speaking fans can thoroughly enjoy.

Troublemaker

As a game developed in Indonesia, Troublemaker truly resonates when played in its native language. Given the crass and rowdy nature of these high school delinquents, it simply looks and sounds better in Bahasa Indonesia.

Returnal

This roguelike shooter captivates players with its addictive gameplay and grimdark atmosphere, revealing more with each run. The innate spookiness and eerie alien world of Returnal are undoubtedly heightened in Bahasa Indonesia.

Coral Island

Another Indonesian-made video game, Coral Island is a cozy life and farming simulator featuring a vibrant and colourful art style. Its Disney-like charm and chill vibes are equally comforting in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

A sequel to the critically acclaimed Oxenfree, this supernatural adventure thriller is heavily focused on narrative, making the Bahasa Indonesia translation even more impressive. As the old adage goes, translation is an art, not a science.

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo

One of the most whimsical games on this list, The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo feels like a playable Saturday morning cartoon, reminiscent of Ren and Stimpy. If you grew up watching these cartoons with local subtitles, The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo is a wonderful nostalgic throwback.

Ghostlore

This Singaporean action role-playing game has done an excellent job of paying homage to Southeast Asian culture as a whole, so it is a no-brainer that it includes a Bahasa Indonesia translation right from the start.

The Master's Pupil

The Master's Pupil primarily conveys its message through its unique visuals, making it a game that doesn’t necessarily require an extensive translation in any language. Nevertheless, whether in Bahasa Indonesia or any other language, this hidden gem is one that many may have overlooked.

A Space for the Unbound

Mojiken Studio’s masterpiece is particularly enjoyable in Bahasa Indonesia, especially given its highly authentic portrayal of Indonesia in the 1990s. However, it is marvellous that the game can be appreciated in any language while preserving its central theme.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Considering that the game offers a full audio translation, it’s worth noting that SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake features the same Indonesian voice cast that worked on the local dub. This makes the game a whole lot more immersive for those who grew up watching the Bahasa Indonesia dub.
