IGN Southeast Asia has previously featured Airship: Kingdoms Adrift, a sandbox ship simulation game developed by Thailand’s Revolution Industry. With the support of publisher Freedom Games, the game is set to make its long-awaited debut on Steam on September 21.

The game is set in a steampunk world where airships rule the skies. However, it’s not all sunshine and roses, as the world is ravaged by war, leaving the scattered inhabitants of Spheara wounded, penniless, and filled with hopelessness.

The sole sanctuary is Suthseg, an archipelago that serves as a safe haven and offers the ideal opportunity for a fresh start in the skies. Here, players can build an unstoppable empire and a thriving economy, all while navigating the perils of war and intricate politics.

To rise to the top, players must meet the challenge with significant sales for a robust economy and even more formidable weaponry for air supremacy. Achieving this involves creating bustling and well-established mines, foundries, and lumberyards to sustain their airship fleet.

Like a true titan of industry, players will need to seek out merchants and negotiate quality trades with options to deal in over 300 varied trade goods and chart treacherous trade routes in hopes of discovering the clearest path to success.

In battles, players start by choosing between airships of 30 distinct types, from graceful sailing vessels to ironclad dreadnoughts, equipped with customisable options for weapons, armour, and equipment.

Having the right airship is important because players can anticipate major battles in the skies, featuring more than 500 unique encounters. These enemies range from sky pirates to soldiers, and even the player’s in-game friends can become foes at a moment’s notice.

In addition to a single-player campaign loaded with over 20 hours of gunship gameplay, soar into epic sky battles in 1v1 or 3v3 PvP modes with friends or other fellow fleet captains. These include options for specific maps, airship builds, and more to keep online battles interesting.

Airship: Kingdoms Adrift will be available on Steam on September 21.
