Jurassic World Roars into Magic: The Gathering with 'The Lost Caverns of Ixalan'

In an exciting announcement, Wizards of the Coast has revealed the upcoming release of "The Lost Caverns of Ixalan," the latest expansion set for the renowned trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG). Set to captivate players with prehistoric-inspired adventures, the set will take them deep into the mysterious underground world of Ixalan, promising treasures and uncharted dangers.

Key Features

Race to the Core: Players will find themselves aligning with one of four factions, each racing to uncover the source of Ixalan's power. Whether joining the Sun Empire's Dinosaurs, The Brazen Coalition of Pirates, the demonic Legion of Dusk, or the shamanistic Merfolk, each faction is represented in preconstructed Lost Caverns of Ixalan Commander Decks, ready for both newcomers and seasoned players.

New Mechanics: The Lost Caverns of Ixalan introduces three thematic gameplay mechanics. Descend triggers effects based on the number of permanents put into the graveyard, offering strategic options. Craft allows treasure delvers to transform artifacts into powerful items, and Discover lets players exile cards from the top of their library until finding a non-land card of equal or lesser mana value.

Jurassic World Collaboration: In an epic crossover, the set features a Universes Beyond collection inspired by Jurassic World. With charismatic characters and clever dinosaurs, these cards will be included in Set Boosters, Collector Boosters, and select Secret Lair drops.

Special Guests and Treasure Troves: A new addition, Special Guests, brings powerful Masters-level reprints with fresh aesthetics. These guests join expeditions into the depths, providing unique and potent effects. Additionally, powerful artifact reprints can be found as non-foil Box Toppers in Draft and Set Booster boxes and in traditional foil in Collector Booster boxes.

Adventure In Style: Ixalan's natural beauty is showcased through gorgeous new styles and returning fan-favorite treatments. Exclusive to Collector Boosters, the extremely rare Cosmium Neon Ink cards await discovery. The Gods of Ixalan make a statement with Showcase Frames, capturing the underworld's horrific beauty. Collectors can also find Mesoamerican, Travel Poster basic lands, Extended Art, Borderless, and more throughout all Lost Caverns of Ixalan boosters.

Magic Open House: Starting November 15, Magic Open House events will take place at WPN Premium stores in Malaysia, inviting aspiring planeswalkers to learn and play MTG. Attendees will receive an exclusive promotional card, "Ravenous Chupacabra," with an additional card, "Cultivate," for those who bring a friend.

The Lost Caverns of Ixalan includes Draft Boosters, Set Boosters, Collector Boosters, Commander Decks, Prerelease Packs, Bundles, and Gift Bundles. For participating stores, players can refer to the Wizards Store Locator.
