Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released in theaters on February 12, 2021, and further cast members were revealed.

Shang-Chi will be played by Simu Liu, who has starred in Kim's Convenience and the Taken TV series and, during Marvel's SDCC panel, he said he was "screen tested on Sunday, [he] was cast on Tuesday."

The Mandarin will be featured in this film, played by Tony Leung, and will most likely be the real one following Ben Kingsley's Trevor Slattery acting as him in Iron Man 3. Awkwafina will also be joining the cast, but no character name was given.

Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing the film and he praised the diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying "the MCU reflects all the beautiful colors I see in this room."

As for the Ten Rings, they are a terrorist group who were actually hired by Obadiah Stane and captured and imprisoned Tony Stark at the beginning of Iron Man. Marvel head Kevin Feige even revealed that the Ten Rings logo was shown in Ant-Man, but he bets "you didn't see that."

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the the Ten Rings is part of Marvel Studios' Phase 4. Phase 4 will consist of such films as The Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Widow, and the return of Blade starring Mahershala Ali.

In addition, Feige also confirmed Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Captain Marvel 2, and the Fantastic Four will be part of the next phase following the Infinity Saga, which ended with Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Disney+'s Marvel shows, including The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, Marvel's What If...? series, and the newly announced Hawkeye series all got release windows and will also be out before the end of 2021.
