This year’s Indonesian Game Developer Exchange saw another edition of the Indonesia Game Awards, with a notable trailblazer sweeping the awards this year. The awards featured six categories, four of which were one by a single game and the studio behind it.

But before that, the winner of the Best Mobile Game this year went to Paw Rumble by Grinsmile Studio. The game is an online multiplayer game that lets four players duke it out in cartoony, platforming mayhem.

For the Best Audio award, Toge Productions’ Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly came out on top with its cozy lo-fi soundtrack. The first instalment of Coffee Talk was enjoyed by many fans, thanks to its overall atmosphere and soundscape.

The biggest winner of this year’s Indonesia Game Awards is none other than A Space for The Unbound, which is published by Toge Productions and developed by the Surabaya-based developers Mojiken Studio.

A Space for The Unbound took home the Best Visual Arts award, the Best PC/Console Game award, and overall Game of the Year. On top of that, Mojiken Studio also brought home the Game Studio of the Year award.

A tearjerking narrative adventure set in 1990s Indonesia, A Space for The Unbound sees the threat of cosmic disaster creating a collective feeling of despair spreading across a humble community.

Guided by their newfound supernatural powers, protagonists Atma and Raya navigate the hardships of others in order to help heal the world around them. So while living through an impending apocalypse, players will also familiarize themselves with Atma and Raya’s neighborhood.

This journey of self-discovery and confronting the most overwhelming obstacles of everyday life is what made A Space for The Unbound a total success, resonating with audiences for its mature and honest story.

Overall, Mojiken Studio has a lot to be proud of this year, and we’re hoping to see more from their upcoming output, as well as many other standout indie games at next year’s Indonesian Game Developer Exchange.
