In December last year, Nintendo launched a Thai-language Nintendo website as well as an official online store, signaling the company's desire to penetrate and capture the burgeoning gaming market in Southeast Asia.

This means that Thai gamers neither have to contend with exchange rates nor make special regional accounts to enjoy fair prices on Nintendo software and hardware.

And in October last year, Nintendo made its presence official in Southeast Asia with the launch of a Singaporean website.

Today, Nintendo launched its official website in two more Southeast Asia countries - Malaysia and the Philippines - which is a clear indication of the Japanese company's push to make further inroads in the region.

"We are pleased to provide various information about Nintendo, including Nintendo Switch console, game software, and characters from Nintendo game series to the Southeast Asia region," said a Nintendo spokesperson in an email to IGN Southeast Asia today.

The company also recently launched an official Nintendo SEA YouTube channel and a Facebook page, which contains various updates about their upcoming games as well as a slew of new video game trailers.

However, it is unclear whether Nintendo has plans to launch the Nintendo eShop in Malaysia and Singapore anytime soon.
