Originally released in 2006 to critical acclaim, Okami tells an unforgettable tale through its unique Sumi-e ink art style. Mixing puzzle-solving with action gameplay, Okami is one of the most unique and breathtaking video games ever made.

In the remastered Okami HD, players assume the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess who takes on the form of a legendary white wolf Shiranui. She goes on a quest to defeat Orochi, an eight-headed demon and tyrannical monster responsible for turning the world into a ruined wasteland.

Like Link’s adventures in Hyrule, players must use Amaterasu’s magical abilities, an arsenal of items, and special attacks. The Celestial Brush techniques that players will learn throughout the adventure will help restore the land of Nippon to its previous glory, teeming with life and colour.

Along the way, Amaterasu will be summoned to assist a cast of quirky and intriguing characters and defeat a bevvy of brutal enemies to rid the land of Orochi’s curse. These sidequests and mini-games flesh out Okami’s world even more.

With the modern remaster, players will be able to choose between playing in a modern widescreen format or the original release’s 4:3 aspect ratio. The interactive loading game screens from the original game are also included, allowing players to earn bonuses.

The Nintendo Switch version adds new ways for players to use the Celestial Brush. These include creating brushstrokes directly on the touchscreen in Handheld mode, or painting with the Joy-Con controller’s motion controls in TV or Tabletop mode.
