Original Fantastic Four Star Jessica Alba Would 'Jump at the Chance' to Join the MCU
No-one has approached her about a return.
Jessica Alba has shared fond memories of playing Sue Storm and says she would "jump at the chance" to reprise her Fantastic Four role.
Alba, who played Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman) in 2005's Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer, told Entertainment Tonight she would be up for joining the MCU as she "loved" her role in Fox's live-action Fantastic Four films — but Marvel Studios has yet to approach her about a return.
"I loved those movies, and [it] also changed my life, that series," Alba said, reflecting on her superhero outing. "No one has talked to me about [a return], but I would jump at the chance... I loved that character, and I felt like she was so unique in the Marvel universe at the time. There weren't kind of female superheroes like her."
Marvel Studios is rebooting The Fantastic Four with Vanessa Kirby taking on the role of Sue Storm alongside Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, who will band together and go up against Ralph Ineson's Galactus.
The Fantastic Four will be a 1960s-period piece set in an alternate MCU timeline, which could set the stage for variant heroes to appear (similarly to the debut of Earth-838's Illuminati in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Julia Garner is reportedly playing "an alternate version" of Silver Surfer, suggesting that this is the version from Earth-X — one of Marvel's most notable alternate realities.
The Fantastic Four will hit theaters on July 25, 2025. That means we have three MCU movies — Deadpool and Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolts — to watch before that date arrives, along with a few Disney+ shows.
