Since its inception in 2019, the Indonesian Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) has become a much-anticipated event in the local gaming industry. Industry professionals and newcomers alike have a lot to take away from this annual event.

Acting as a major forum for meetings between global and local gaming industry players, IGDX has succeeded in creating a strong relationship between the game community, game developers, and investors.

The Ministry of Communications and Informatics, together with the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), is focused on improving the quality of game developers and facilitating talents through four main IGDX programs.

The first is IGDX Academy, which features one-on-one mentorships with game developers with as many as 18 game studios at the Advanced Level and nine game studios at the Intermediate Level. The mentors consist of 12 global mentors and six local mentors.

Then there is IGDX Career, a job search platform specifically for gaming companies to encourage inclusive talent search from all over Indonesia. It also allows game companies to post job advertisements on the IGDX Career platform.

Next is IGDX Business, a matchmaking service for domestic game developers with various stakeholders in the games industry, such as publishers, buyers, and developers. This allows one-on-one meetings that can pave the way for even more games in the future.

Lastly, there’s IGDX Conference, a series of seminars that allows developers and key industry leaders to share information and hold discussions. This event is open to not only those who are in the video game industry but also the general public as well.

Happening alongside IGDX Business and Conference is a video game showcase on the showfloor for attendees to play released and upcoming Indonesian games. There will also be exciting reveals by the Indonesian developers Gamecom Team, Rolling Glory Jam, and Eternal Dream Studio.

The Indonesian Game Developer Exchange be happening from October 11 to 13 in Bali, and interested parties can purchase tickets for the event on the official website.
